Estate Officer

AsanSka University College of Design and Technology is a private University College located at Oyibi, Accra, accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba. We are a practice-based institution offering Programmes in Jewellery Design Technology, Digital Media and Communication Design, Fashion Design, and Product Design and Entrepreneurship at the Degree, Diploma, and Certificate levels.

AsanSka University College of Design and Technology is in search of a qualified professional to fill the role of Estate Officer. The Estate Officer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of the University’s physical assets and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of University Property: Ensure proper management of the landed properties and other assets of the University
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular inspections of all university properties and supervise all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring that the university’s buildings, facilities, and equipment remain functional, safe, and in good condition.
  • Asset and Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all estate assets, including acquisition, tagging, valuation, and disposal, in compliance with institutional policies.
  • Plan and Execute Estate Development Projects: Assist in planning, designing, and executing new university development projects, including expansions, renovations, or new constructions.
  • Supervise Estate Personnel: Oversee the work of estate staff such as cleaners, technicians, gardeners, and other support personnel, ensuring duties are performed efficiently and in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Enforce occupational health and safety procedures within estate operations and during maintenance or construction activities.
  • Administrative Duties: Prepare reports, memos, and documentation on estate activities, maintain organised filing systems, and advise management on estate-related issues for informed decision-making.

Minimum Requirements:

  • First degree in Architecture, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Land Economy, Estate Management or a related field.
  • At least three years of work experience in estate or property management for a reputable organisation.
  • Being a member of a recognised professional body in the relevant field is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of property management regulations and legislation.
  • Familiarity with building maintenance, safety regulations, and utility systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace.
  • Good working relationship and ability to interpret contract documents and clauses.

AsanSka University College of Design and Technology is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Library Assistant to support the effective operation of its academic library. The ideal candidate will assist the University’s librarian in providing library services to faculty and students, manage resources, and support research and learning across the institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Library Circulation and Services: Assist with the lending and returning of library materials, manage user accounts, and maintain accurate circulation records.
  • Cataloguing and Shelving: Support the organisation and classification of books and other resources using library classification systems and ensure proper shelving and arrangement of materials.
  • Faculty and Students Assistance: Guide faculty and students on locating and accessing library resources, including digital platforms and research databases.
  • Library Resource Management: Help maintain an up-to-date inventory of books, journals, and other materials; assist in the acquisition and processing of new resources.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate library records, assist with data entry and preparation of reports, and support general administrative tasks as assigned by the Librarian.
  • Library Maintenance: Ensure the library space is tidy, organised, and conducive to studying. Monitor the condition of library materials and report any damage.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Library Studies, Information Studies, or a related field.
  • At least two years of work experience in an academic setting, preferably in a university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency in library management systems and digital databases.

  • Experience in an academic or public library setting.
  • Knowledge of cataloguing and classification systems.

AUCDT Launches New Learning Management System

AUCDT Launches New Learning Management System

AsanSka University College of Design and Technology (AUCDT) on the 25th of February, 2025 officially launched its new Learning Management System (LMS), a significant step forward in enhancing digital learning and teaching experiences. The presentation was led by Mr. Bright Senanu Agbosu from the IT Unit, who provided an insightful and practical demonstration of the platform’s features and functionalities.

The AUCDT LMS, built on the Moodle framework, is designed to provide a flexible, scalable, and interactive learning environment that supports blended learning, online assessments, and collaboration. With its user-friendly interface and mobile accessibility, the platform enables lecturers to manage courses efficiently and students to access learning materials anytime, anywhere.

The launch event saw the presence of esteemed members of the AUCDT community, including Prof. Emmanuel Amankwah Asante (President), Dr. Joseph A. A. Sackey (Vice President), Heads of Departments (HODs), and the academic staff. Mr. Daniel Twum, Head of IT, played a pivotal role in spearheading the project, ensuring a seamless implementation and robust system.

The session focused on navigating the LMS, highlighting its benefits in streamlining academic activities, improving access to course materials, and facilitating seamless communication between lecturers and students.

During the presentation, Mr. Agbosu guided attendees through the system’s user interface, demonstrating how to create and manage courses, upload assignments, track student progress, and utilize interactive tools to boost engagement. He emphasized how the LMS aligns with AUCDT’s commitment to adopting modern educational technologies to support effective teaching and learning. 

The President of AUCDT expressed enthusiasm about the introduction of the LMS, noting that it marks a new era of academic excellence and digital transformation at AUCDT. The Vice President and HODs echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of the platform in fostering a collaborative and resourceful learning environment.

The launch concluded with a Q&A session, where staff members shared feedback and sought clarifications on specific LMS features. The IT Unit assured continuous support and training to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

Overall, the introduction of the new LMS is expected to enhance productivity, streamline academic workflows, and ultimately contribute to the university’s vision of producing highly skilled and innovative graduates.

Administrative Officer

AsanSka University College of Design and Technology is a practice-based university, located at Oyibi. We are currently in partnership with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to offer some of its programmes which currently involves NP1 and NC1.
We are seeking a tech-savvy and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Attendance and Reporting Officer for our TVET program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily attendance, generating reports, and providing feedback to the ICT Unit and Management. This role requires strong organisational skills, a good understanding of technology, and the ability to communicate effectively to address challenges and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

Attendance Management

  • Monitor and record daily attendance during all TVET facilitation sessions.
  • Ensure accurate entry of attendance data into the institution’s database or designated software.
  • Verify attendance records to identify discrepancies or anomalies.

Reporting

  • Generate and submit detailed daily attendance reports to the ICT Unit and Management.
  • Highlight trends, issues, or challenges observed in attendance reports.
  • Propose solutions to improve attendance tracking and reporting efficiency.

Technical Oversight

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to attendance tracking tools or software.
  • Liaise with the ICT Unit to ensure that attendance systems are functioning optimally.

Communication

  • Provide regular updates to the ICT Unit and Management about any operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with facilitators to ensure smooth attendance tracking processes.

Compliance and Record Keeping

  • Maintain confidentiality of all attendance records and reports.
  • Ensure that all attendance practices comply with institutional policies.

And perform any other task assigned to him or her.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Forms).
  • Familiarity with attendance tracking software or database systems.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
