This course is designed to describe the structure and functionality of the world wide web, create dynamic web pages using a combination of HyperText Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), WordPress and JavaScript, apply essential programming language concepts when creating HyperText Markup Language (HTML) forms, selecting an appropriate web hosting service, and publishing webpages for the world to see. Finally, be able to develop a working model for creating personal or business websites in the future and be fully prepared to take the next step in a more advanced web development or design course or specialization.

Duration: 6 Months

For the successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

1. Design the branding and style of a web site, with a consistent look-and-feel throughout.
2. Use Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to create static web sites. Learn how Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is used to properly format text on a page.
3. Use graphics in appropriate file formats, to create a unique and compelling website.

• How to and where to start research, planning for website & actually build excellent web sites.
• Pro level skills in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) with keyword research and content strategy for your website.
• To create web elements like buttons, banners & Bars and of course complete User Interface (UI) designs.
• Forms and validations for your website.
• Setting up page layout, colour schemes, contract, typography in the designs.
• Writing valid and concise code for webpages.
• Best use of social media for revenue generation.
• Setting up a perfect landing page for business, clients and yourself.

The course will be delivered through lectures, discussions and practical works which will be conducted in studio setting within and outside university premises.
