Call for applications for Ghanaian students who want to study Undergraduate Degree and Diploma programmes in ACDT

Deadline for Application: June, 2018

AsanSka College of Design and Technology is providing scholarships to Ghanaian student applicants who wish to study one of the following programmes:

  1. Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design Technology
  2. Bachelor of Arts in Product Design and Entrepreneurship
  3. Diploma in Jewellery Design Technology
  4. Diploma in Product Design

ELIGIBILITY

  1. The scholarship is opened to commencing students of ACDT, pursuing either Undergraduate degree or diploma programmes in AsanSka College of Design and Technology.
  2. The application is opened to Ghanaian Regular students.

HOW TO APPLY

Take note:

  1. To apply for the scholarship programme, you need to first apply for admission to study one of the programmes with AsanSka College of Design and Technology. After completing and submitting the general application, you will then proceed to download, fill and submit the scholarship form.

AsanSka College of Design and Technology (ACDT), a new private tertiary institution in Accra, Ghana was inaugurated on Friday 7th, April 2017 to an impressive fanfare.

Among the dignitaries gracing the occasion with their presence were, Daasebre Awuah Kotoko II (Begorohene, and Benkumhene of Akyem Abuakwa traditional area), Honourable Kwabena Amankwah Asiamah (MP, Fanteakwa North), Prophet Dr Akwasi Agyemang, as well as many esteemed individuals representing the National Accreditation Board and other prominent institutions such as partner Banks. Several TV and Newspaper organisations were also in attendance, thus confirming the uniqueness and total belief in the stated aims of ACDT to train highly skilled artisans and designers who will contribute in practical ways to nation building through job creation in the design and manufacturing areas.

The slide show covers the inaugural event, highlighting speeches by the Chairman and Founder of ACDT Mr Kwabena Asante Asare, President of the College Dr Emmanuel Amankwah Asante and special guest of honour, Honourable Amankwah Asiamah MP. Other pictures are of the invited guests, cutting of the ribbon by Daasebre Awuah Kotoko, shots of the Ofosuaa Library, lecture rooms and partially equipped laboratory representing only 5% of the hi-tech equipment already acquired for installation in the near future.

UEW Concludes Pact with ACDT

The University of Education, Winneba has concluded a pact with AsanSka College of Design and Technology, Accra, at a ceremony held in UEW on Tuesday 1st November 2016.

The Signing of the Pact is part of the requirement of the National Accreditation Board for Colleges to be affiliated to a mentoring University that would supervise the running of programmes. In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mawutor Avoke remarked that the signing of the agreement concludes the partnership between the two institutions.

He noted the pact commits the University to the responsibility of fulfilling its obligations as outlined in the agreement. He stated that the University has an affiliation instrument with which the College should be acquainted to guide them on what is expected of the partnership.

In his statement, the Registrar of UEW, Dr. C.Y. Akwaa-Mensah indicated the readiness and willingness of the University to assist the College by fulfilling its part of the agreement.

He insisted that there was the need to ensure that the standards in entry requirement and examinations by the College were the same as UEW since graduates would receive the same certificate.

He reinterated the fact that the University does not compromise on it standards and urged management of the college to work towards ensuring that high academic standards are maintained.

The Ag. Registrar of AsanSka, Mr. Emmanuel Ansah expressed the college’s gratitude to the management of UEW for accepting to mentor the college. He pledge that the college would abide by the terms of the agreement. He also indicated that the college would work hard to ensure that acceptable academic standards were maintained.

Signing on behalf of the University of Education, Winneba was Professor Mawutor Avoke, witnessed by Dr. C.Y. Akwaa-Mensah. The Founder and Director of the College, Mr. Kwabena Asante-Asare signed for AsanSka and was witnessed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Ansah.

Present at the signing ceremony were the Ag. Principal for College of Agricultural Education, Professor James Kwame Kagya-Agyemang, Principal for Colleges of Languages Education, Professor Nsor Avea, Senior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr. Collins Owusu-Ansah, who represented the Deputy Registrar, and the Head of University Relations and Protocol Services, Mr. Israel E. Fugar, Senior Lecturer, Department of Graphic Design, Dr. Frimpong K. Duku.

His Lordship (Very Reverend) Justice George Atto Mills-Graves, a High Court Judge on Wednesday 13th September, 2017 inaugurated the Governing Council of AsanSka College of Design and Technology (ACDT), at a brief ceremony held at the College’s premises at Kokomlemle, Accra.

In a short address to the Council, Mr. Kwabena Asante-Asare the Founder and Chairman of the Governing Council informed members that they have been selected based on their expertise and he will rely on their rich experience to build a solid foundation for ACDT.

He outlined his vision for ACDT in becoming an internationally reputable centre for design education and research, to train professional and non professional artisans to contribute to the nation’s economic and social development through training and acquisition of employable skills.

Touching on infrastructural development of the College, Mr. Asante-Asare pledged to mobilize funds to complete all works at the main ACDT campus at Oyibi. He ended by congratulating members and pledged his unflinching support to Council members as they go about discharging their duties.

His Lordship (Very Reverend) Justice George Atto Mills-Graves advised members to work hard to accomplish the vision of the College. He also pledged his support whenever we call on him for his assistance and advice. His Lordship further entreated the Governing Council of the College to uphold the mandate of ACDT, and let their decisions be guided by the Constitution of Ghana, as well as the Statutes of ACDT.
