AsanSka University College of Design and Technology is a Private University located at Oyibi, Accra, accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba. We are a practice-based institution, offering Programmes in Jewellery Design Technology, Digital Media and Communication Design at the Degree, Diploma and Certificate levels. We are currently processing accreditations for two other Programmes namely Fashion Design and Product Design and Entrepreneurship.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Technician to join our team in the Jewellery Design Department. As a Technician, you will cater for the day-to-day running of the jewellery workshop. Additionally, he/she will assist Lecturers with their practical lessons and will guide students with their practical works. The Technician will also fix, maintain, service and ensure that all machines are in good working order.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the functionality and safety of the jewellery workshop.
  • Assisting students with their practical work.
  • Demonstrating methods/techniques and experiments to students after theoretical lessons.
  • Ensuring machines and materials are ready for use.
  • Maintaining and repairing machines and equipment where necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a First Degree in Metal Products Design (Jewellery).
  • Two years’ work experience as a Jewellery Technician.
  • Ability to work with people.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • A person who pays careful attention to detail and exhibits good organizational skills.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Registry. As a Senior Administrative Assistant, you will perform a range of clerical and administrative duties.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide advice and guidance to students on admission requirements and processes, and general information about the sessions of admission and on matters of general academic procedures.
  2. Liaise with prospective students and parents in promoting the university programmes.
  3. Screen and respond to phone calls and e-mails.
  4. Provide administrative support for all general administration activities by data entry of information into an established database, including admissions, enrolment, examinations, graduation, and collation of student statistics.
  5. Assist in the management of student records, academic records, transcripts, and ensure easy retrieval of such records.
  6. Assist to write Minutes and compose administrative letters and respond to students’ complaints and inquiries.
  7. Distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence to appropriate offices by receiving, sorting, opening (as appropriate), and routing correspondence according to prescribed office procedures and guidelines.
  8. Direct students to other sources of support and information as required, scheduling appointments for students with the relevant staff as necessary.
  9. Assist in the preparation of academic schedules for the academic sessions.
  10. Provide input for timetabling and scheduling of the use of lecture halls and other facilities.
  11. Compile and maintain a register of students’ details in a database.

Skills and Ability:

  • Knowledge of administrative processes and office procedures in a tertiary education institution.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to touch type dictations, and type at a good clip of 35 wpm (words per minute).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Great work ethic and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Multitasking and attention to detail.
  • Experience in student records management and Management Information System software will be an advantage.

Required and Experience:

  • A good First Degree in Business Administration/ Management or its equivalent with at least second-class upper division.
  • At least three years of work experience in an administrative capacity for a reputable university.

Position Overview

The Digital Media & Communication Design Department seeks an innovative and creative Lecturer to join our dynamic academic team. We are looking for a passionate educator who combines artistic vision with technical expertise and a forward-thinking approach to digital media education. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of digital media professionals, with particular emphasis on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools and agentic systems in creative workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Academic Excellence

  • Deliver engaging undergraduate courses across various digital media and communication design disciplines
  • Design, implement, and assess coursework, projects, and examinations that reflect current industry standards and creative practices
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to nurture student creativity and technical skills
  • Innovate teaching methodologies that combine traditional design principles with cutting-edge digital tools

Curriculum Development & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to modernize and enhance existing digital media curriculum

Required Qualifications

Educational Background and preferred qualifications

  • A PhD in a relevant creative or media field would be preferable, with the minimum qualification being an MPhil/Master’s degree in Digital Media, Communication Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent qualification
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating professional-level creative work and practical technical proficiency is essential.
  • Professional industry experience in advertising agencies, design studios, or media companies will be desirable.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of university-level teaching experience in digital media or related creative disciplines
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative academic or creative professional environments
  • Proven track record in curriculum development and creative project assessment

    Emerging Technology Skills

    • AI-Powered Design Tools: Knowledge of artificial intelligence applications in creative workflows, or demonstrated willingness to learn and integrate AI design tools
    • Agentic Creative Systems: Understanding of automated design processes and their potential applications in media production
    • Awareness of current trends in generative design, machine learning for creatives, and intelligent content creation
